Following Samsung's official announcement of the compact version of its flagship smartphone, the UK retailers have revealed the pricing and availability of the newest Galaxy S3 Mini.

Clove UK is the first to confirm the availability of the Galaxy S3 Mini stating the device is up for pre-order on its site.

With product code, SAM-GS3M, the 8GB version of the S3 Mini (SIM-Free) is available at a suggested retail price of £298.80 including VAT.

The retailer will be selling the S3 Mini in two colour variants: blue and white. Clove has not provided any information as to when the 16GB version of the phone will become available.

The retailer has not given any release date for the phone but has requested interested consumers to register for the device.

Prior to the announcement of the Galaxy S3 Mini, all the features as well as the pricing of the handset had been leaked. Most of the leaked features match the official ones. There is not a big difference between the leaked price (€ 399, approximately £322) and the retail price.

Vodafone UK too has not mentioned its prices or the release date, but confirms via Twitter that the phone is expected soon. Other UK retailers are also yet to come up with their pricing for the handset.

The Galaxy S3 Mini features a 4in WVGA Super AMOLED display with a resolution measuring 480 x 800pixels. It uses a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz. It runs on Android's latest software v4.1 (Jelly Bean). The handset has a five megapixel rear-camera as well as a VGA quality front-camera. The phone is NFC-enabled and offers Bluetooth v4.0 (LE). It runs on a 1500mAh battery and supports microSD card for storage expansion.

As its name suggests, the Galaxy S3 Mini shares the design of the Galaxy S3. The new phone features a few functionalities including S Voice, Smart Stay (the phone's camera tracks user's eyes and keeps the screen lit as long as the user is looking at it), Direct Call, Smart Alert, S Beam and Buddy Photo Share. These features were introduced in the Galaxy S3.
