The toe kiss happened during Episode 2 of 'Friends Keep Secrets,' Blanco's podcast with Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco. Gomez, seated on the floor, leaned over and kissed Blanco's second toe while he lounged barefoot on the couch.

The Dirty Feet That Started It All

One week earlier, the podcast's debut episode had already sparked criticism. Viewers noticed that Blanco's feet looked visibly dirty as he sat on Lil Dicky's couch.

Blanco defended himself on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' days later. 'First of all, it's the facility's fault, not mine,' he said, pulling off his boot to show a clean foot. Lil Dicky backed him up, explaining that crew members had tracked dirt across the floors.

With the latest episode, social media reacted harshly. One user on X wrote, 'I never wanna be this in love I'm sorry.' Another said, 'Selena Gomez kissing benny blanco's dirty feet... whoever said maybe she was as nasty as him was right.'

Here's where it gets weirder. In November 2024, Blanco told People magazine he doesn't shower every day. 'I feel like the oils on your skin don't have time to rejuvenate and get juicy,' he said.

Then came the Interview magazine TikTok in February 2025. 'I might not get to shower every day, but when I do, when I feel like I deserve it, I'm in there for so long contemplating life,' he said. 'I sit down in every shower I go into.'

It got darker. 'I always get death realisations when I'm in the shower. Like, I realise I'm gonna die, but it's in the shower. And then I cry about it a little bit.' Gomez responded with a stunned 'whoa.'

The Cheese Bath and the Gum

Valentine's Day 2025 added another layer. Blanco filled a bathtub with melted queso cheese.

At the January 2025 Golden Globes, cameras caught him chewing gum with his mouth wide open. 'Seeing Benny Blanco's face chewing that gum with his mouth wide open makes me want to punch a hole in my wall,' one viewer wrote.

One claim that spread widely has been debunked. A viral post alleged that Gomez said Blanco changes his underwear only every seven days. The quote was fabricated, traced back to a parody account called 'Poo Crave'.

Despite the noise, Gomez hasn't budged. The couple married in Santa Barbara on 27 September 2025, with Taylor Swift and Martin Short among the guests.

So, is this eccentricity or poor hygiene? Fans are still debating. But Gomez isn't asking for their opinion. She kissed the toe anyway and knew the man she married.
