Following Google's announcement of the new Android operating system, Japanese tech major, Sony has now made the upgrade plan public for its Xperia line-up.

Sony will bring Android 5.0 Lollipop for a range of Xperia smartphones. The tech major, through the official blog, confirms the upgrade will commence at the beginning of 2015 for the core Xperia Z3 and Z2 series, after which the remaining Xperia devices will receive the new Android version. The exact date for the roll-out is not yet known.

Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition will be the top contender in the Sony Android Lollipop upgrade plan. Here are the Xperia devices that will receive Android 5.0.

Along with the Android 5.0 roll-out details, Sony said that, 'We've been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our Z Series devices as we can, as quickly as we can.
