Student sang 'I killed him' after shooting ex-boyfriend before his date with beauty queen Miss Ohio
Police officers shocked by Shanya Hubers' bizarre behaviour after firing six bullets into ex-boyfriend.
The 24-year-old danced around the interrogation room after her arrest for killing Ryan Poston.
Police Chief Bill Birkenhauer said: "This was one of the strangest things, when she was doing that dancing, snapping her fingers and twirling around, almost as if she was proud of it."
The Eastern Kentucky University student sang "I killed him, I killed him," according to Mirror Online.
When police interrogated Hubers, who was 21 at the time of the killing, she said: "He's very vain. One of our last conversations we had that was good was that he wants to get a nose job," Hubers was recorded on police tape.
"And I shot him right here. I gave him his nose job he wanted. I broke it."
She then asked a series of odd questions about whether she would have to shower in front of people in jail, before talking to herself "for hours on end".
"I don't know if anyone will ever want to marry me if they know that I killed a boyfriend in self-defence," she added.
While dating, Hubers and Poston visited a gun range together. Hubers texted her friend Christie Oyler saying, "When I go to the shooting range [with] ryan tonight I want to turn around and shoot and kill him and play like [it's] an accident."
On the evening before the shooting, the former lovers had dinner with Poston's family, during which he revealed that he was going on a date with beauty queen Audrey Bolte, a former Miss Ohio on the following night.
Bolte, a runner-up in Miss USA, testified in court that she was excited about the date with the 29-year-old lawyer, but he failed to turn up.
The jury decided that Hubers killed Poston in a jealous rage and recommended that she serve 40 years in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years.
