Swedish Bus Driver Andre Grandin Becomes National Hero After Pulling Over to Help Bullied Girl
A Swedish bus driver has been hailed as a hero after pulling over to comfort a young girl crying at the side of the road.
Passengers were left speechless as Andre Grandin interrupted their journey between Vara and Lidkoping in southern Sweden to attend to 10-year-old Emilia Behrendtz, who had been upset by some bullies.
Passenger Emman Gustafsson was so moved by his actions she took a picture on Twitter, which went viral, and said: "The bus driver stops at the way of a sad girl is crying, that's what I call being compassionate".
She added: "It came from nowhere. We didn't know what was going on. But then we saw that he walked up to a crying girl sitting on the road. It was really cute."
According to the Expressen newspaper, the driver then climbed aboard again without saying a word and drove away.
The Swedish newspaper found the bus driver, who was nonchalant about his kind behaviour and said it was part of his nature to help someone crying or in pain.
