England will look to take a step closer to the last-four stage of the World T20 when they face minnows Afghanistan in Delhi on 23 March. England got their World T20 campaign back on track with a record-breaking run chase against South Africa in Mumbai. Joe Root struck a superb 44-ball 83 to guide his team to a target of 230 – the second highest run chase in T20 international history. Eoin Morgan's side are backed at 1/10 by Betfair to win their second straight match in the tournament.

Afghanistan put up a spirited fight as they lost to South Africa by 37 runs on 20 March. The ninth-ranked side also troubled Sri Lanka in their first match and cannot be written off. They are placed at 11/2 to pull off a famous victory.

Alex Hales is priced at 5/2 to be the top scorer for England, with Root at 11/4. Jason Roy, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes are evenly priced at 3.

Mohammad Shahzad is backed at 2 to lead with the bat for Afghanistan. Noor Ali Zadran is priced at 10/3 and Asghar Stanikzai at 7/2.
