It is best known as the home of showbiz news, but when E! isn't busy documenting the Kardashians' every move, it's putting the spotlight on Africa's most notable and beloved celebrities. Tiwa Savage is the latest African superstar to bag her very on mini-doc on the US network.

Announcing her forthcoming TV appearance on Instagram, the 36-year-old shared a snapshot of the promo for the show and couldn't contain her delight. The caption read: "I am so excited, HUGE platform. I watch E all the time and now I'll be watching my own mini documentary ... When God says YES nobody can say no E! VIP. Airs on E! channel 124 on 12th June at 9pm CAT. ( this is 8 pm WAT)"

The show will give viewers an exclusive insight into the life the Afrobeats singer, who is often dubbed the Mavin First Lady, leads and is part of a 12-part series that will also feature stars including Nollywood Rita Dominic, Diamond Platnumz, Mafikizolo, D'Banj, Cassper Nyovest.

The series will be a welcome distraction from her complicated personal life. Savage, who competed on the UK version of The X Factor in 2006, is an award-winning singer-songwriter. The Eminado hitmaker is part of Don Jazzy's musician collective and recently made headlines after revealing her marriage to Tee Billz was over after just two years. After he accused her of being unfaithful and declared that their marriage was over in rant on Instagram, she gave a tell-all interview revealing that he had been unfaithful, stolen money and taken drugs.

"He was stealing from me, so I had to save my marriage and separate business from family. TJ wants to keep up with the Joneses, he wants to live a life that is not true," she said.

The couple tied the knot in a star-studded wedding at Dubai's Armani Hotel. Although the revelations shocked fans, speculation had been rife for months that the couple's marriage was in trouble since she reportedly sacked him as her manager in 2015.
