After the super success of Transformers Age Of Extinction, fans of the live action franchise are eagerly waiting for Transformers 5 which was rumoured to be in jeopardy after director Michael Bay's exit from the blockbuster project.

But it appears the wait will be over soon, as Deadline reports that Bay will return for the fifth sequel of Transformers and that all is well between the movie producers and the director.

According to the report, Paramount Pictures is negotiating with writer and producer Akiva Goldsman to work with franchise director Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to come up with a better idea for the next sequel of the second trilogy with Mark Wahlberg as the lead.

The website also reports that Goldsman and other writers will also come up with ideas for spin-offs in the film, giving fans enough chances to witness their favourite Autobots fighting with the evil Decepticons.

Goldsman is the Oscar winning writer of A Beautiful Mind and many other big movies including The Da Vinci Code and I Am Legend.

The producers of the Transformers series are hoping to bring the best of the story with the next sequel as Age Of Extinction failed to impress critics even though it became one of the highest grossing movies of 2014 by earning nearly $1.1bn worldwide.

The super success of the movie is largely attributed to the Chinese audience.

Previously, Wahlberg confirmed that he will be coming back to the fan favourite series. With Michael Bay returning to helm the blockbuster live-action thriller, fans can expect some high octane sequences between Optimus Prime and Galvatron.

In the fourth instalment of the live action thriller series, which was titled Age Of Extinction, Optimus Prime had a fierce fight with Galvatron and the supreme action sequences left fans spellbound.

There are rumours that Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, who has ventured into outer space in search of the Creators, will have a huge showdown with the Quintessons. Transformers 5 is expected to be released in 2016.
