The Walking Dead Season 5: Walkers Get New Gory Look and Rumoured Time Jump Between Episodes
The Walking Dead Season 5 is all set to bring another 'new' factor in the upcoming episodes – the 'look' of the walkers.
According to comicbook.com, special effects guru Greg Nicotero has promised to change things in the upcoming fifth season of the zombie drama. In an interview with the AMC blog, Nicotero revealed that he had some new tricks up his sleeve and has taken the makeup one step further.
"These walkers have been around for what we estimate to be a year and a half, so there's a lot more exposed bone and skin falling off. We've got a whole new look on some of these featured walkers. It's exciting," revealed Nicotero.
The Walking Dead is known for bringing in exciting changes and reinventing itself. Whether it's experimenting with new locations, new storylines and even new cast-members – the makers of the show do not hesitate to venture into the unknown – a quality that seems to contribute to the show's success and massive fan-following.
"The changes don't just apply to the human actors on the show, as the walkers often evolve and change as well," states the comicbook report. During Season 4 of The Walking Dead, fans got their first look at burned walkers and disease-infected, bleeding-from-the-eyes walkers.
However, there appears to be one direction that Nicotero won't be going with regards to walkers. When asked about any zombie special effects that he's afraid to do, Nicotero replied, "The zombie baby thing, in our world, is tricky — they did it in the Dawn of the Dead remake, and they did it pretty well."
Meanwhile, rumours suggesting that the upcoming fifth season will feature a major time-jump between episodes are circulating the web. With earlier reports indicating that the new episodes might focus on a complete new cast, the idea of a time jump within the season doesn't seem too far-fetched.
Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger, with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company stuck in a train car at Terminus.
