Everton have a third, Ross Barkley has a second. Again, it is from the penalty spot after Jamaal Lascelles was shown a straight red card for a trip on the Everton playmaker. Barkley sealed it with a cheeky panenka; a miserable night all round for Newcastle.

Goal! Everton 3-0 Newcastle United (Ross Barkley 90+)

FULL TIME:

Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Nope. 20 seconds later the ball is back in Gomes' hands. That should be that.

Chelsea have a free kick in their own half after Holebas hilariously charged into Ivanovic. One more chance to fashion a chance on goal?

Watford have already settled for a point. They are keeping the ball in the corner, even after winning a corner. Three minutes of time added on.

What a save from Gomes! A cross comes in from the right that Costa gets his head to, but the former Tottenham 'keeper springs to his right to palm it away.

Everton are closing in on three points with Ross Barkley doubling their lead from the penalty spot after Aaron Lennon was felled by Rolando Aarons.

Goal! Everton 2-0 Newcastle (Ross Barkley, 86)

Here is a debut for Mario Suarez, he's onto replace Etienne Capoue.

Cathcart again does well to ease the ball out for a corner from under the nose of Costa. Willian swings the corner in but the linesman decides it has swung out of play.

Terry drives forward towards the penalty area and shifts the ball wide to Hazard who loops his cross over to the far post. Costa is running onto it but the angle is a difficult one and he can only find the side netting.

Hazard denied! Willian exposes the Watford back line down the inside right and cuts a ball back across goal. Nyon misses it and it runs onto the Belgian, but his first touch is a poor one, allowing Gomes to spring out and smother the ball.

Gomes denied Ivanovic! Hazard plays a neat reverse pass for Costa who slides a pass across for the full-back but his shot his brilliantly read by the goalkeeper who makes the decisive block.

Watson swings in a corner that Ivanovic just abouts gets to ahead of Prodl. Watson swings in another corner but this time the Chelsea full back gets a better connection and can steer his header away and Chelsea can clear.

Meanwhile at Goodison Park, Everton still lead Newcastle 1-0. 15 minutes remaining in that contest.

With just over 15 minutes left to play, Eden Hazard enters the fray, replacing Matic.

Watford try to lead a counter after Gomes punched that corner clear with Deeney taking over from Abdi, but the big centre forward runs into trouble and is quickly swamped by blue shirts.

Neat from Oscar, who darts inside past Capoue and rifles a shot on goal that produces a decent save from Gomes. Chelsea corner.

First change of the game, Jurado is off to be replaced by Abdi.

Costa looks to creep up the inside left channel but again takes too long to make up his mind about what he is going to do, allowing Prodl to get across and make a good tackle.

Matic watches the ball drop out the air and catches it with a firm volley from about 25 yards out. He gets a great connection on it, but no direction and Gomes can gather at the second time of asking.

Matic advances and pokes a cute ball through for Costa inside the box. The angle is too tight for the Spaniard to take the shot on, and instead prods it across for Oscar, but the Brazilian can't steer his effort on target.

Gomes is forced to palm one over the bar after a shot from Mikel (!) took a big deflection and almost looped in.

And we are back underway for the second half.

HALF TIME:

Watford 0-0 Chelsea

Everton 1-0 Newcastle

There is a bit of a flare up in the closing minutes of this half after a coming together between Costa and Paredes. Flores does his bit from the sidelines, attempting to calm Costa down as he kicks off for no apparent reason.

Lots of fuss over nothing, but Mike Dean shows both men a yellow card.

Holebas goes to ground in the Chelsea box but Mike Dean waves play on.

Just over five minutes of the first half remaining at Vicarage Road.

Fabregas picks Costa out with a wonderful ball but Cathcart manages to get across and make another decisive block.

Everton meanwhile have taken the lead over Newcastle at Goodison Park with Aaron Lennon on the scoresheet again. Picking the ball up on the edge of the box, the former Spurs winger spins before firing low past Rob Elliot to give his side the lead.

Jurado creates space down the right with a wonderful piece of skill, leaving Capoue open to hammer a shot on goal. The Frenchman got everything behind that effort, but Courtois stood strong to deny him with a fine save.

Goal! Everton 1-0 Newcastle (Aaron Lennon, 27)

Watson lifts the corner in again at Prodl leaps above Ivanovic and connects with a firm header. It's straight at Courtois, however, who makes the easy save.

Ighalo drifts inside past Terry with ease and tries to do the same to Zouma who does a bit better, forcing the corner.

What a chance for Ighalo! Holebas swings in a brilliant cross from the left but the Watford striker appears to mistime his leap and gets no real contact on the ball.

Down the other end Jurado goes down following a challenge from Matic but the referee waves play on. In fairness to the Spaniard, he didn't really appeal for anything either.

Fabregas does wonderfully well down the inside left channel to evade two challenges before slipping a pass through for Oscar, but the Brazilian is just offside.

Prodl receives the first yellow of the game for a rash challenge on Oscar.

Watford have a half chance as Chelsea fail to clear but Deeney can only scoop a difficult effort up in the air for Courtois to collect.

Capoue is fed into space down the inside right and decides to take on Azpilicueta, winning a corner for his trouble.

Fabregas robs possession from Watford and threads ball through for Costa, who twists and turns into the box looking for a chance to shoot. He finds one, but Cathcart keeps close to him and makes the block.

Deeney and Ighalo swap passes in a tight space before the ball is shifted out to the right for Paredes but his cross is overhit and sails out of play.

Watson curls it in but Zouma can nut it clear, launching a Chelsea counter that is led by Costa. He creeps inside Holebas but Behrami makes a smart tackle to win the ball back. Now Watford march right up the other end and win a corner after Ighalo's shot is deflected wide.

Juradado tries to scamper into space down down the left flank but he is blocked off by Ivanovic, winning a free kick for his side.

Oscar, who netted a first half hat-trick in Sunday's win over MK Dons, tries to loft a ball over the top for Fabregas to run onto but Gomes can come out and collect.

And Chelsea get us underway.

Just five minutes from kick off now at Vicarage Road, here is a reminder of the teams.

Watford XI: Gomes (GK); Paredes, Prödl, Cathcart, Holebas; Behrami, Watson, Capoue; Jurado; Deeney (c), Ighalo.

Chelsea XI: Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Mikel, Matic; Willian, Fabregas, Oscar; Diego Costa

Are Chelsea's hopes of reaching the top four still really alive? They still lie 17 points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal and games like tonight's are exactly the sort they cannot afford to drop points in if they wish to close that gap.

Newcastle's deadline day signing Seydou Doumbia meanwhile is on the bench this evening.

Andros Townsend will make his Newcastle debut this evening. Here is the team to take on Everton.

Everton team to face Newcastle: Joel, Oviedo, Funes Mori, Jagielka (c), Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Cleverley, Lennon, Barkley, Lukaku

Subs: Stanek, Baines, Gibson, Kone, Deulofeu, Osman, Pienaar

There is one other Premier League fixture taking place this evening with Everton hosting Newcastle United. We will have regular updates from that game this evening, too.

BREAKING: Mario Suarez named on the Watford bench, Holebas comes in for the ineligible Nathan Ake.

Watford team to face Chelsea: Gomes (GK); Paredes, Prödl, Cathcart, Holebas; Behrami, Watson, Capoue; Jurado; Deeney (c), Ighalo.

Subs: Pantilimon (GK), Nyom, Anya, Suarez, Guedioura, Abdi, Amrabat

BREAKING: Pato doesn't make Chelsea squad, Eden Hazard settles for spot on the bench. Willian fit enough to start despite picking up knock in win over MK Dons.

Chelsea team to face Watford: Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Mikel, Matic; Willian, Fabregas, Oscar; Diego Costa

Subs: Begovic, Cahill, Baba Rahman, Loftus-Cheek, Kenedy, Traore, Hazard

And here is Qique Sanchez Flores on the possibility of Mario Suarez making his Premier League bow this evening.

Yes, he [Suarez] has trained with us for just three days but he's fit. He doesn't know at the moment how we play exactly but he knows me and I know this player. I think the adaptation time of top players is very quick.

Here is what Guus Hiddink had to say on Pato earlier this week at his pre-match press conference.

[Pato] is somewhere [short] of fitness," the Chelsea boss told reporters. "Yesterday he has to bureaucratic stuff which we have to accept. He was out of the country, he had to come into the country. He has worked for a few training sessions and he will be in this afternoon. If he is still up to the game we will decide that afterwards.

"He is in preparation and not fully fit. The paperwork is done and formally he is, but physically and mentally he has done hardly any work with the whole team. We have to be careful and prepare him well as soon as possible with a tight schedule coming up.

TEAM NEWS: Chelsea

Willian was a doubt earlier this week after picking up a foot injury in the 5-1 win over MK Dons on Sunday. Manager Guus Hiddink said earlier this week he was unsure whether the Brazil international will be fit in time for tonight's match. Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao meanwhile are also still recovering from knocks while the club will make a late decision on Pato.

TEAM NEWS: Watford

Nathan Ake is ineligible to play against his parent club. The Dutchman's absence means Jose Holebas is likely to come in at left-back. Watford have no other injury concerns and could had a debut to Spanish midfielder Mario Suarez this evening.

Chelsea are unbeaten since the return of Guus Hiddink to Stamford Bridge but they have had one or two closes shaves during that run. One of those was the visit of Watford to west London, when Qique Sanchez Flores' side left with a point after a 2-2 draw. The Hornets finished that afternoon 10 points clear of the Blues, a margin that has been reduced to just four ahead of kick off tonight.

Watford's form has faltered slightly in January but there is nothing like a few new faces to sort that out. Former Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez is in line to make his debut this evening following his arrival from Fiorentina after signing a four-and-a-half year contract at Vicarage Road.

Wednesday's match is likely to come too soon for Chelsea's January arrival Alexandre Pato, however. Having not played since last year, the Brazilian is lacking match fitness with the club to take a late decision on his availability.
