Sony Xperia Z5 Premium will sport QHD resolution Reuters/Toru Hanai

Sony will host a media event on 2 September, just a couple of days ahead of the IFA trade show scheduled to take place from 4-9 September in Berlin, Germany. The next-gen Xperia Z series flagship is highly anticipated at the event, as last year also Sony took the stage to unveil Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact.

Sony will introduce three new Xperia models at this IFA convention; the flagship- Xperia Z5, its compact model- Z5 Compact and finally the Z5 Premium, according to an anonymous source PhoneArena has received tips from. The Z5 will sport a 5.2in screen with resolution measuring at 1080x1920 pixels, whereas the Z5 Compact will come with a smaller 4.6in screen offering HD resolution of 720x1280 pixels.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip featuring an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz will be the source of power inside the Z5. Adreno 430 graphics unit, 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage are a few of its noteworthy features. Xperia fans can take advantage of the 23 megapixel camera fixed at the back of the device, while an eight megapixel camera at the front will handle selfies and video chats.

The report further states the 5.5in Z5 Premium will have QHD resolution, at 1440 x 2560pixels. This model will pack a 23 megapixel rear snapper that can capture 4K videos. The Z5 and its other variants will have fingerprint scanner on the side of the phone. The source has provided a screenshot of the Z5 smartphone, which shows the Power and Volume keys are positioned far off at the right side of the phone.
