The long-standing unity of the South Korean girl group 2NE1 has drawn renewed public attention following allegations made by vocalist Park Bom. In a series of social media posts, the singer claimed she had previously been used as a 'scapegoat' by her former agency to divert attention from a drug-related incident involving fellow bandmate Sandara Park.

The accusations appeared in a handwritten letter that Park Bom uploaded to social media before deleting it shortly afterward. Screenshots of the post circulated widely online. Sandara Park's representatives responded soon after, stating that the allegations were groundless.

The dispute has prompted widespread discussion among fans and media outlets, particularly as it resurfaced past controversies involving the singer's public statements and social media activity.

Details of the Allegations

The controversy began on 3 March 2026 when Park Bom posted a message addressing the long-running issue surrounding her 2010 investigation for importing Adderall. Prosecutors suspended the indictment in 2014 after confirming that the medication had been prescribed for the treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).

In the letter, Park Bom alleged that the public scandal had been shaped by YG Entertainment to protect Sandara Park. She claimed her bandmate had been 'caught for drug abuse' during the same period. The singer also addressed YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk and 2NE1 leader CL, asking them to stop reporting that she had misused prescription medication.

Resurfacing Lee Min Ho Claims

The focus of public speculation has been further complicated by a series of posts regarding Park Bom's personal life between late 2024 and early 2025. During this period, the singer repeatedly referred to the actor Lee Min-ho as her 'husband', sharing edited images and captions expressing a romantic connection. These claims prompted a significant turning point in her public image, as fans questioned the validity of the statements.

In February 2025, Lee Min-ho's agency released a statement saying that the actor had no personal acquaintance with the singer. Park Bom later posted that she was 'single' and alleged that the actor himself had requested the posts. However, no further evidence was provided.

Agency Response and Health Concerns

South Korean media outlets reported on the situation shortly after the letter circulated online. The outlet OSEN quoted a 'close associate' who clarified that the letter was written during a period of 'unstable health'. The source requested public understanding, suggesting the claims were a byproduct of the singer's current struggles.

Sandara Park addressed the matter stating she has never used illegal substances and wishing her former colleague well. The incident also occurred on the same day that Park's exclusive contract with Abyss Company expired, adding a layer of professional transition to the public dispute.

Impact on Group Legacy

Park Bom remains on an indefinite hiatus from group activities to focus on 'treatment and recovery'. Her agency maintains that this break is necessary given her emotionally unstable state, even as the singer continues to raise disputes regarding financial settlements with her former management.

As of now, YG Entertainment has not issued a formal response to the allegations involving a coordinated cover-up or the claims directed at Yang Hyun-suk. Screenshots of the deleted letter and earlier posts continue circulating widely online.
