American actor Alec Baldwin welcomed his first child with wife Hilaria Thomas, at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

"We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter Carmen Gabriela. She is absolutely perfect. @ABFalecbaldwin @IrelandBBaldwin," the 29-year-old yoga instructor tweeted.

The 55-year-old Emmy winner's 17-year-old daughter Ireland (from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger) also shared the news on Twitter.

"Welcome to the world, Carmen! I'm a f**king sister!I was born October 23. Carmen was born Friday, August 23," Ireland tweeted.

The former 30 Rock star and Thomas, who tied the knot last June, announced the pregnancy in February. Meanwhile, Thomas had previously revealed plans to have a natural childbirth.

"Right now, I want to do it naturally. That's not to say there's something wrong with the epidural, but that's the way I was raised - I'm a pretty natural person," she said, adding, "But if it does get to the point where I am screaming for the epidural, I have no problems with that. We'll see where it goes."

The two also reportedly took pregnancy tips from the popular self-help book What To Expect When You're Expecting.

''We read parts of 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' together every day. He'll point things out and ask 'How are you feeling? Are you having that?''' she said.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Alec hinted on his desire to give up life in the spotlight and concentrate on fatherhood.

"I have one dream in my life and that is that this daughter I'm having - she comes to me about seven or eight years from now, she has a friend, and she's at her house and she says, 'Daddy, Susie's mom says you used to be on TV. Daddy, is that true?' She has no knowledge of me as a public person. That would be heaven for me," he said.
