Lady Gaga as The Countess in American Horror Story Hotel FX

American Horror Story Hotel has gone on a winter hiatus and will return with all new episodes on Wednesday, 6 January, at 10pm EST on FX Networks. Episode 11 is titled Battle Royale, where Ramona Royale played by Angela Bassett draws vitality from an unlikely source.

The official synopsis reads as follows:

Ramona draws vitality from an unlikely source. Sally uses her past to negotiate her future. Scarlett learns the truth of her family's affliction. Written by Ned Martel; directed by Michael Uppendahl.

In the previous episode, Iris (Kathy Bates) and Liz Taylor (Denis O'Hare) teamed up to take over the infamous Hotel Cortez. They put their plan in by barging into the hotel's penthouse suite guns blazing and open fire at Donovan and the Countess (Lady Gaga).

Is the Countess alive? There is no word on whether she died but in AHS Hotel, death doesn't mean the end of character. Like many characters, fans may find her lurking around the hotel corridors as a ghost.

A new promo shows Iris asking Liz: "You did it?" as we see Liz dragging a stretcher with someone inside white sheets, and replies: "I told you I would. Big hotel, big furnace."

Also, we see the Countess in an elevator, dead or alive we are not sure, but Ramona is spotted shouting: "I need to take a life to bring me back."

Is the Countess alive? Will Liz and Iris successfully take over Hotel Cortez? We will have to wait till 6 January, 2016, to see how the plot unfolds.
