Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016, following an alleged mid-flight altercation between Pitt, 53, and their son Maddox, 15, that led the FBI to investigate the incident. However, The Allied star was later cleared of the allegations.

Seven months later, the 41-year-old actress is reportedly having 'regrets' about how she has handled her split from Pitt.

"Angelina regrets the way she handled certain things and wants to be at peace with Brad," a friend of the pair told E! News.

This comes just a month after a report from People magazine claimed that the former couple, who were earlier communicating through their lawyers, have started speaking directly with each other.

Added to this, it seems like both of them are doing their best for the sake of their six children – Shiloh, Maddox, Knox, Vivienne, Zahara and Pax. In the same month, Pitt also reportedly met Jolie and their children secretly in Cambodia, where the actress was filming her upcoming movie First They Killed My Father.

"All through production and filming, and on her most recent press trip, Brad came to Cambodia in secret to spend time with the kids," a source previously told E! News. "They were with Angelina for probably 75% of the time when Brad was in the country and they'd go back and forth between her and Brad."

Moreover, since the split, Pitt's priority has been his children and he "will continue to put the kids first and not say anything negative about their mother."

Pitt, however, reportedly feels that his former wife is to be blamed for their divorce and custody drama coming out in the public eye.

""Brad is way too upset still. He blames Angie for how public everything became," another source said. "He knows that eventually it is best to forgive her and be on good terms for the sake of the children but he feels let down in a way he never thought was possible. He saw a different side of her and he can't forget. The way everything went down has been beyond comprehension."
