Kristin Cabot has broken her silence months after she was publicly scrutinised for allegedly having an affair with her boss, Andy Byron. The former colleagues made headlines last year after they were seen sharing a kiss during Coldplay's 'Kiss Cam' concert segment.

Following the incident, Cabot resigned from her position as head of human resources at a tech company, while Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, also left his post. Both faced public criticism, though it was Cabot who bore the brunt of the condemnation despite the full circumstances not being publicly known at the time.

Relationship With Former CEO Wasn't a Secret

During a recent conversation with Oprah Winfrey, Cabot shared the timeline of her relationship with Byron, revealing that her ex-husband and children were aware she was in a relationship with her boss. She had also believed that Byron was in the process of finalising his divorce, but later learned that this was not the case.

Ahead of the Coldplay concert, Cabot's daughter informed her that her ex-husband would also be in attendance. She considered it unlikely they would cross paths with the people they were each dating, given that the venue held 55,000 concertgoers. It was not, however, only her ex-husband who saw her with Byron that evening. Their faces appeared on the 'Kiss Cam' screen, making the moment visible to the entire stadium audience. Video footage of the exchange spread rapidly across social media in the hours that followed, drawing millions of views and triggering a wave of public speculation about the nature of their relationship.

Cabot clarified that her ex-husband was aware she was seeing someone else, and she had believed that Byron's wife was equally aware. When she later discovered that Byron had not been fully honest with her, she ended the relationship, citing concerns over his honesty and integrity.

Despite the fallout, Cabot declined to speak on Byron's behalf. She told Winfrey that she did not wish to characterise someone else's experience, noting that online commentators had done precisely that to her. She had been heavily criticised and accused of destroying not only Byron's relationship with his wife, but his entire family.

'I wanna be really careful, because the world spoke for me and on my behalf, and I don't wanna do that to somebody else and their family. A lot of what was represented to me was not true,' she said.

Cabot was also left to manage the public criticism surrounding the relationship largely on her own, while Byron remained silent throughout. At one point, Byron was photographed with his ex-wife, with their wedding rings still on their fingers. The fact that he did not defend Cabot or their relationship troubled her deeply.

'I was left holding the bag — and I don't, you know, being the one that was attacked for this and he's [Byron] remained silent, to me, that's not a quality that I would look for in a friend or a partner or a boss. So, we have no relationship now,' she said.
