Taylor Swift's Music Compared To 'Dry Chicken' As Bad Gyal Says She Would 'Never' Collaborate With Her
The Catalan singer said she does not identify with Swift's music, while stressing that she would rather avoid a personal feud

Catalan singer Bad Gyal has said she would refuse to collaborate with Taylor Swift even if offered three million euros or dollars, comparing the American pop star's music to 'a dry chicken with no spices'.
The remarks came during an interview on Fort Night Show, a Spanish-language programme associated with Argentine streaming platform Blender and hosted by Marta Fort. Bad Gyal discussed the artists she would and would not consider working with, explaining that she did not identify with Swift's ideas or what her music represented to her.
Why Bad Gyal Singled Out Taylor Swift
Fort asked whether Bad Gyal had experienced difficulties with an artist or whether there was someone she would never work with. The singer said she had not had any specific bad experiences before naming Swift as an example.
'I'd name someone who I also don't think would be interested in me. Taylor Swift, for example. I'd never do it,' she said, in comments translated from Spanish.
'Let's say we enter some kind of Alice in Wonderland world, some surreal world, whatever, and someone tells me, "I'll pay you three million euros or three million dollars if you collaborate with Taylor Swift." I wouldn't do it,' she said.
Bad Gyal explained that she did not identify with Swift's ideas or what her music represented to her. She did not specify which ideas she meant or identify a particular political or ideological disagreement.
She then referred to memes comparing Swift's music to bland food.
'Haven't you seen those memes? That's what Taylor Swift's music sounds like,' she said.
She compared it to 'a rotten hard-boiled egg' and 'a dry chicken with no spices', adding: 'No salt, no oil. Just bland.'
'I'd Rather Not Start Beef'
Bad Gyal also explained why she chose Swift as an example, saying she did not expect to meet the American singer. 'I mean, I could run my mouth a lot more and go after someone we all know, but since I'm never going to meet this woman in my life, I'll talk about her,' she said.
'I could make it more personal, but I'd rather not start beef with anyone.'
She did not identify the other person she had in mind.
Her response was more enthusiastic when Fort brought up potential collaborations with other artists. Bad Gyal said she would love to work with Madonna, while also expressing admiration for Argentine singers Lali and Tini.
She praised Lali based on what she had seen of her and described Tini, whom she knows personally, as 'a sweetheart'.
The discussion concerned artists Bad Gyal would consider working with, rather than an actual offer involving Swift. The three-million-euro or dollar figure formed part of the hypothetical scenario she described.
Comments Precede Her US Tour Dates
The remarks come as Bad Gyal prepares to bring her Más Cara World Tour to the United States. The US dates begin at The Fillmore Miami Beach on 28 October 2026.
Further performances are scheduled for Chicago's Riviera Theatre on 1 November, Terminal 5 in New York on 4 November, The Wiltern in Los Angeles on 6 November and House of Blues Dallas on 8 November.
The wider itinerary also includes a performance at Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 30 October, between the Miami Beach and Chicago dates.
The tour follows Bad Gyal's 2024 debut album, La Joia, and comes as she continues to build on a catalogue spanning roughly a decade. Her music draws on reggaeton and dancehall.
In the interview, her rejection of a hypothetical Swift collaboration contrasted with her enthusiasm for Madonna and her praise for Lali and Tini.
