AEW Star PAC Found Unresponsive in Vehicle Outside Illinois Restaurant Before Death at 40

British professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, who performed as PAC in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Neville in WWE, has died aged 40 after being found unresponsive inside a vehicle outside an Illinois restaurant.

Satterley was discovered in a parked vehicle outside a CAVA restaurant on Mannheim Road in Des Plaines on Sunday afternoon, less than 24 hours after competing at AEW All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates. A 911 call was made after people at the restaurant noticed he was unresponsive.

First responders arrived shortly before 4pm local time and Satterley was pronounced dead at 4:08pm, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An initial autopsy found no signs of trauma or foul play, while the circumstances were not considered suspicious. His cause and manner of death remain pending further testing.

Initial Examination Finds No Signs Of Trauma

Satterley was found alone inside a rental vehicle near Chicago O'Hare International Airport, according to reports citing information from the medical examiner's office.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an initial autopsy on Monday. Further toxicology and laboratory testing will be required before the cause and manner of death can be determined, with the process potentially taking several weeks.

No cause of death has been publicly established at this stage, and authorities have not indicated that Satterley's death involved an assault or other suspicious circumstances.

Satterley's Final Match Came A Day Earlier

Satterley competed in what became his final professional match on Saturday night at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Performing as PAC, he challenged AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo at All Out. Andrade retained the title after defeating Satterley in the opening contest, according to AEW's official results. PAC later appeared during the main event between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay as part of the Death Riders.

The timing means Satterley had been competing at an AEW event less than a day before he was found unresponsive.

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1986, Satterley began his professional wrestling career in 2004 and later joined WWE, where he performed as Adrian Neville in NXT before using Neville on the main roster.

He won the NXT Championship and became a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Satterley joined AEW in 2019 and went on to win the All-Atlantic Championship, later renamed the International Championship, as well as the AEW World Trios Championship.

Tributes Follow Satterley's Death

AEW announced Satterley's death on Sunday, highlighting his high-flying style and in-ring ability before extending condolences to his family, friends and fans.

AEW president Tony Khan also paid tribute to Satterley, praising his wrestling knowledge, athleticism and dedication to the sport. Khan announced that Wednesday's episode of Dynamite in Pittsburgh would be dedicated to Satterley, with a 10-bell salute also held at a Ring of Honor television taping.

WWE also acknowledged Satterley's death and featured a memorial graphic at the start of Monday's Raw. Tributes have since been shared by wrestlers and wrestling organisations across the industry.
