The 2015 Billboard Music Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on 17 May.

The star-studded show, which will be hosted by rapper/actor Ludacris and model and host Chrissy Teigen, will air live on ABC at 8pm ET.

Taylor Swift is leading the nominations, with 14 entries in 13 categories and Sam Smith is nominated for 13 awards in 13 categories.

"I think every year we have someone who is just like a standout person in music and I think Sam Smith takes that cake for this year," Ludacris told ABC. "I think he said it best when he won his Grammy. He was like, once he just started being completely honest and pouring his heart out, then everyone started gravitating toward his music and it shined. And I'm extremely happy for him."

Chris Brown and Pitbull are confirmed to be performing their song Fun at the event. Other performers scheduled to appear at the star-studded show include Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Sam Smith, John Legend, Mariah Carey, Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears.
