Daniel Craig as Bond in Skyfall. Sony Pictures

Details of the next James Bond movie will be revealed at a press conference on Thursday (4 December).

The 007 Twitter account announced that we'd be hearing more on Thursday, just a few days before the film is scheduled to start shooting on Monday (8 December).

A photocall will be held on the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios at 11am UK time and will be streamed live at www.007.com.

In 2011 a press conference was held days before filming began, at which the cast and title for Skyfall were confirmed.

Sam Mendes is returning after the immensely successful Skyfall, with Daniel Craig - in his fourth outing as the British secret agent - his star once again.

In recent weeks Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista and Christoph Waltz have been rumoured to star as the Bond girl, a henchman, and the villain respectively. Further reports even claimed Waltz would be portraying classic Bond arch-nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Ralph Fiennes (as M), Naomie Harris (as Moneypenny), Ben Wishaw (as Q), and Rory Kinnear (as Tanner) are also expected to return as Bond's MI6 co-workers.

Mendes will direct from the script by John Logan - touched up by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade - with Interstellar cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema on board as director of photography, replacing the Oscar-nominated Roger Deakins.

Bond 24 is set for release on 23 October, 2015.
