Jim Devereaux's son Leo came up with an unusual way of getting his loose tooth out. He threw a football with a piece of string attached to it. The video was filmed by Leo's mother and features the five-year-old with a football and a piece of string attached to his tooth. His father shouts to him to pass the ball and Leo manages to successfully pull out his own tooth by the force of his throw. Leo then picks up his tooth and is seen grinning and rubbing his jaw.

The video was uploaded to social media on 17 January and has already been shared thousands of times. Devereaux told Reuters that it was Leo's idea to use the football and to do it at half time when football was playing on the TV. Devereaux also said that Leo was very excited and surprised that it actually worked. He also said he felt "funny" after his tooth came out.
