Humberside police evacuated houses in Kilnsea Grove, East Hull on Sunday after explosives were discovered inside a house. Police confirmed that three people – a man, 56, woman, 49, and a 15-year-old boy are being questioned.

A cordon has been set up around the property and an Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit is still inside. It is believed police went to the property after receiving a call from a member of the public.

Detective Inspector Jason Gourley of Humberside Police said: "Our officers arrived at an address in east Hull in the early hours of today.

"Since then, we have arrested three people who are currently assisting us with our enquiries in connection with substances believed to be at a property on Kilnsea Grove.

"We are working closely with our partner agencies to ensure the area is safe for the local community, which is why we have put a cordon in place."

Police have asked people to stay away from the area until the investigation is complete and the cordon around the property lifted.
