The Spring 2017 Bridal Fashion Week kicked off in the Canoe Studios in New York Naeem Khan

Move over stereotypes and the run-of-the-mill bridal wears, the 2017 Bridal Fashion Week has time-travelled into the future to empower the brides-to-be with the latest trends and runway know-how.

With the impending wedding season, bridezillas can take a backseat — sip off some champagne maybe — as the well-planned fashion calendar takes charge of the pumped-up affair. Forget the clichéd clashes between traditions and innovations, fashion moguls have devised a way to keep the sleeves and let you bare as well. And if the free-spirit wants to take over, feel free to blow with the wind, in sync with style though.

A versatile list of bridal trends have been listed below to guide, inform and ease the cumbersome affair called "wedding".

Boho bride from Coachella

Can it get any easier? Laces, feathers, fringes and free spirit borrowed right from the windy California dessert will ensure the bride sings to the tunes of Coachella on her D-day. Taking a cue from all the celebrities visiting the music festival, the Coachella bride can be a refreshing breather amid the up-tight celebrations.

Breaking the black stigma

Naeem Khan showcased a strong silhouette breaking stereotypes with his black rendition of the bridal wear at the Spring 2017 BFW. Among all his designs, the intricate black-rose embellished gown with a floor-grazing veil shined the brightest. With Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton too donning one of Khan's outfits during her India tour, the designer received his due credits and a standing ovation.

Bride in sheer

The sheer fabric, better known as the naked dress, featured in several designers' collections during the fashion week. Taking a page from the likes of Kim Kardashian and Beyonce's look-book, Israeli designer Berta presented the naked bridal look on the runway. Deep necklines and see-through panels of the gowns gave the illusion of "sexy" while being practically covered.

Veils or capes

Another traditional staple, the veil was juxtaposed with the contradicting pant-suit style in Carolina Herrera collection. When used with the gown, the Swarovski crystals embellished veils rendered a dramatic grandeur with their length and flow. Lela Rose's cape look on the other hand is sure to take the to-be-brides on a trip down the memory lane with superhero-esque vibes.
