Two people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Brighton. Sussex Police released CCTV footage showing the horrific incident in Montague Place on 14 January as part of an appeal to find those responsible.

A 53-year-old man was left with serious injuries after a white Fiat 500 drove into him at high speed. The man can be seen thrown several feet into the air as the car drives away from the scene.

A 31-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman, both from Brighton, have been arrested in connection with the hit and run. The man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury, attempting to pervert the course of justice and aggravated vehicle taking. The woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Police said the man was arrested after trying to trying to hide on a roof in Donald Hall Road, Brighton.
