A controversial audio file purporting to link Erika Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been circulating on social media. The development has prompted conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has publicly questioned Kirk since her husband's death, to dismiss the recording as fabricated.

Owens said her team had investigated the audio and confirmed it was not authentic, adding that its inauthenticity was why she had not used it in her previous reporting on Kirk, despite having received it multiple times over the preceding month.

Candace Owens: 'My Team Was Able to Debunk It'

'The audio going around is not Erika Kirk. It was sent to me many times over the last month and my team was able to debunk it, which is why we did not include it in our series,' Owens wrote on X. She added: 'Erika's verified connection to Epstein's orbit is via Faith Kates' Next Model Management and the model apartments on the upper east side.'

The statement was notable given Owens' sustained public criticism of Erika Kirk following Charlie Kirk's assassination in September 2025. Owens, a former associate of Turning Point USA and close friend of its late founder, has previously questioned Erika Kirk's account of the circumstances surrounding her husband's death, making her public dismissal of the recording a significant development in the ongoing dispute.

The Alleged Recording

The controversy gained traction after an account called Project Constitution claimed to have located a recording on the Department of Justice website in which a woman allegedly discussed arranging access to girls for Epstein. Several accounts shared the recording, including commentator Matt Wallace, who has 2.3 million followers on X. It was Wallace's post that drew Owens' response. Wallace has since deleted his post.

The clip features a female voice that some listeners alleged belonged to Erika Kirk. In the recording, the unidentified woman states she had spoken with Epstein and was set to meet him the following morning. 'I don't know. I'm gonna talk to him tomorrow morning. I mean, I don't really work for him like that, I just bring girls to him, and they work for him, so you're gonna have to talk to him about it,' the woman said. 'The more you do, the more you get paid.'

The recording's origin has not been independently verified. No official source has confirmed the identity of the voices on it, and Owens has stated directly that the voice is not Kirk's. Public opinion over the clip has been divided, with a significant portion of listeners sceptical of its authenticity and pointing to the absence of verifiable metadata or official confirmation.

Unexpected Solidarity

The most significant aspect of the episode is the support Owens has extended to a figure she has repeatedly criticised. On multiple occasions, Owens has publicly questioned Erika Kirk's account of the circumstances surrounding her husband's assassination, making her decision to defend her a notable departure from that pattern. Owens framed the intervention as a matter of principle, suggesting she viewed the circulation of fabricated evidence as a more pressing concern than her personal grievances with Kirk.

Owens remains the most prominent public figure to have formally challenged the claims. Whether her intervention will be sufficient to counter the recording's continued spread remains unclear as discussion over its origins persists online.
