A viral image appearing to show US President Donald Trump kissing his aide Natalie Harp on a golf course has flooded social media this week. Fact-checkers say no verified source published it and it looks likely fabricated.

The picture spread quickly across X, drawing a mix of outrage, mockery and disbelief. Some users questioned whether the woman was even Harp. Others openly asked whether the whole thing was fabricated. Neither Getty, Reuters nor the Associated Press has published or credited it, and early fact-checks describe the picture as likely generated or altered by artificial intelligence.

A Photo No Verified Outlet Will Touch

The claim taps into months of speculation about Harp's closeness to Trump, yet the evidence has never caught up. Snopes, which has examined earlier affair rumours involving the pair, found no proof of a romantic relationship. What is documented is a professional bond that critics call unusually tight.

The rumours have political fuel too. Democratic senator Jon Ossoff mocked Trump in August for wanting to 'travel with Natalie' on a 'flying palace', a jab that pushed the pair into wider debate.

Who Natalie Harp Is

Harp, 35, has served as executive assistant to the president since January 2025. A former One America News Network anchor, she is known inside the White House as the 'human printer' for the stacks of flattering articles and poll numbers she prints and hands him, often at his golf clubs.

Colleagues coined the nickname on the campaign trail, when she followed him with a portable printer and battery pack so he could read paper copies rather than a screen. She now sits near the Oval Office, travels on Marine One and helps manage his social media accounts. Authentic photographs of the two together are therefore common, which is why a fake can hide in plain sight.

Real Photos, Doctored Photos, and Pure Fakes

Part of what makes the kiss image spread so fast is that Harp genuinely appears beside Trump in many authentic pictures. A widely shared shot of the two gazing out of a Marine One window in April 2026 was real.

Others were not. Fact-checking outlet Lead Stories flagged a separate Harp picture as AI-altered after a detection tool spotted signs of manipulation. The result is a feed where readers struggle to tell which Harp images are genuine.

The Aide Behind Trump's Own AI Fakes

There is a sharp irony to an AI fake landing on Harp. The Wall Street Journal and other outlets identified her as the staffer who published a widely criticised AI-generated image in April 2026 that cast Trump as a Christ-like figure. Reporters have also tied her to his overnight run of AI 'slop' posts.

The fabrications gain traction because Harp's real record invites them. Trump biographer Michael Wolff reported that she wrote adoring letters to Trump, one telling him 'you are all that matters to me', and that the Secret Service viewed her behaviour as a possible risk. The Daily Beast published the letters in August. Against that backdrop, a fake kiss photo slides easily into feeds, even when no one can prove it real.
