Glamorous Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will attend the 67th Cannes Film Festival on 20 May.

The 40-year-old former Miss World missed the first of her two scheduled appearances, due to an air traffic controllers' strike in France.

On 22 May, Aishwarya Rai and her husband and fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan will jointly attend the amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) dinner together.

The actress' official spokesperson confirmed the news on Twitter.

Aishwarya Rai has been representing cosmetic brand L'Oreal since 2002 at Cannes. She has also served as a jury member of the festival in 2003, becoming the first Indian actress to do so.

This year will be her 13th time at the international film festival.

"While the delay has been unfortunate... we are sure she will dazzle as always," said Manashi Guha, general manager, L'Oréal Paris India.

Indian author, journalist and film critic Anupama Chopra posted a picture with Aishwarya Rai.

Aishwarya will be soon seen in filmmaker Sanjay Gupta's new movie Jazbaa. The Pride and Prejudice actress will be the female lead in Gupta's film. He confirmed the news on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Bollywood celebrities including Mallika Sherawat and Uday Chopra attended the event in Cannes on the first day.

Sonam Kapoor will attend the film festival on 18 and 19 May.
