Chelsea will take on Sunderland in their weekend Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on 19 December, Saturday.

Where to watch

Kick-off is at 3pm GMT. Catch the highlights of the match on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:30pm GMT.

Overview

Chelsea will play their league fixture just two days after Jose Mourinho was relieved from his duties. The Blues have struggled just seven months after winning the league as they suffered their ninth league defeat against Leicester City.

The Foxes star players Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez were on target in the former Real Madrid manager's final game in charge of his second spell at Chelsea. With just 15 points from 16 matches, the west London club will be hoping to bounce back with a victory over the Black Cats.

Chelsea are without a win in December as their last win was against Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on 21 November. They are without a manger for the weekend tie and the English champions will be out to set things right on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sunderland suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Watford in their last clash. With just three wins in the league this season, Sam Allardyce will be keen to take advantage of Chelsea's struggle in order to seal a victory over the Premier League winners.
