Chris Pratt and Anna Faris split reason revealed as Jennifer Lawrence is monstered on Twitter

Celebrity watchers and fans were genuinely shocked when Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their separation on Sunday evening (6 August), and now the reason behind the split has been revealed.

It has been claimed that the couple's break up is due to 38-year-old Chris' hectic acting schedule which stopped them from having more children.

After eight years of marriage, TMZ report that their different family values were to blame and that 40-year-old Anna wanted to expand their brood. But the Passengers actor "can't juggle a growing family with his career", as he films movies all over the world and leaves home for months at a time, according to a source.

It is claimed that Chris did not wish to have more children in the foreseeable future and that there are "other personal reasons for the split, but the way they see family in the long-term was a big factor in their decision."

The former couple met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007, and they played each other's love interests in the film. They were married in Bali on 9 July 2009 and had a son called Jack in 2012. In their separation statement, the parents were keen to stress that they "love him very much".

Following the news of their separation, fans took to Twitter to express their devastation, with some even blaming Chris' Passengers co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

One angy fan tweeted: "Chris Pratt and Anna Farris are filing for divorce. I feel like Jennifer Lawrence has a role in this. B*tch has a role in everything."

All seemed well between the couple just a few weeks ago as Anna posted an adorable snap of Chris and son Jack on Twitter on 23 June with the caption: "My main men!!"
