Images of Dormer's badly scorched, partially dismembered body after his death are being reportedly being sold to the media.

Images showing the dead body of Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD police officer suspected of killing former colleagues and their families, have reportedly gone on sale.

According to TMZ, the pictures show the badly scorched, partially dismembered remains of America's most wanted man minutes after his body was recovered.

The top of Dorner's head is apparently gone and the body is missing several limbs including an arm and parts of a leg.

TMZ claims an unnamed individual attempted to sell the pictures to them, but the offer was rejected.

Dorner, a former US Navy reservist, is suspected of killing four people including two police officers during his rampage, which began on 7 February.

Almost 1,000 officers from over a dozen local, state and federal law enforcement agencies were enlisted after Dorner went on the run.

On 12 February, after a six-day manhunt, officers were led to the skiing area in Big Bear, CA and the 33-year-old attempted a final stand by barricading himself inside a remote cabin.

Before the cabin was engulfed in flames, Dorner was involved in a gun battle with police, in which one officer was killed and another was injured.

Although Dorner's midsection was left charred as a result of the blaze, the images apparently show several body parts including his eyeballs, teeth, chest area and penis remained intact.

Dorner had posted an online manifesto claiming he was unfairly dismissed from his job in 2008, and he also alleged widespread racism within the LAPD.
