The trailer for 'Daredevil Born Again' Season 2 saw the return of a familiar face as Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones. The two characters are reuniting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since first encountering each other in their respective Netflix shows.

In the trailer, Jessica Jones is seen entering just in time to save a beaten down Matt Murdock/Daredevil. 'I hope you can walk because I'm not carrying you,' she tells him. Her entrance in the trailer marks a reunion of the two characters, especially at a time when Mayor Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force are squaring up against Daredevil and his allies. Aside from Jessica Jones, the trailer also introduces Mr Charles (Matthew Lillard) as well as giving a glimpse of returning characters: Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Vanessa Fisk (Ayelet Zurer), Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), and Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva).

Jessica Jones' Connection With Daredevil

Jessica Jones was a former superhero, driven out of that career when Kilgrave caused her to kill someone. The trauma from the incident led her to become a private investigator instead, opening her own detective agency called Alias Investigations.

Her relationship with Daredevil goes all the way back to her superhero career, when Kilgrave at one point in the comics tries to control her into killing Matt.

In the Netflix series, the pair meet when Jessica gets arrested by Misty Knight while investigating a case that was tied into the mysterious entity known as the Hand leading up to the events of 'The Defenders'. During her arrest, Matt becomes her lawyer.

Another Character's Anticipated Return?

Fans may not just be rejoicing over the return of Jessica Jones in Daredevil's world in the series. There is also the return of Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), despite the shocking plot twist in the first season. Foggy was supposedly killed by Bullseye outside Josie's Bar at the time, and fans could presume he was dead as he lay there.

However, it remains to be seen whether Foggy is truly back from that fatal plot twist or if he will only be in Season 2 as part of flashbacks. In the trailer for Season 2, the character is sporting longer hair and a clean-shaven face. Should Foggy only appear in flashbacks, the look might be from the time of the Netflix series or even before that.

It would not be too amiss if Foggy were to fake his demise, even as his death impacted Matt in a big way. One story arc in the Daredevil comics saw Foggy get killed by inmates whilst visiting Matt in prison. It would ultimately be revealed that Foggy faked his death and entered the witness protection programme, assuming a new identity. Vanessa Fisk was revealed to be the mastermind, just as she is revealed in the series to have ordered the hit on Foggy.

When asked about the possible theory of Foggy Nelson actually being alive, Aaron Moorhead, who co-directed the episode of Foggy's death, could not reveal much. 'I've heard this theory, you eagle-eyed geniuses. I would love to tell you, however, Marvel will snipe me if I say anything else,' said Moorhead.

'Daredevil Born Again' Season 1 Recap

In the first season of 'Daredevil Born Again,' Matt has returned, yet loses his best friend and law partner Foggy when he's ambushed and killed by Bullseye. He navigates the loss throughout the season while questioning the price to pay for being a hero from Hell's Kitchen.

Matt fights through corrupt policemen while also casting doubt on whether his vigilantism is actually doing something good. He makes an attempt to defend his city that forces him to make the ultimate choice in that saving his city would need him to become someone he never wanted to be.

Kingpin spent the first season as an aspiring politician, stepping out of organised crime to become the mayor of New York City. At the end, he declares Martial Law and murders Commissioner Gallo (Michael Gaston).

With Kingpin in control of New York City, one vigilante is not going to be enough. Enter Frank Castle/Punisher (Jon Bernthal), who is incarcerated because of Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force only to escape prison in a post-credits scene. With Frank Castle escaping, it's possible for the Punisher to join Daredevil and Jessica Jones in taking down Kingpin's empire.

'Daredevil Born Again' Season 2 will be comprised of eight episodes and premieres on 24 March. The show, by Marvel Television, was created as a follow-up to the Netflix 'Daredevil' series.
