Rapper Nathan Tokosi, who goes by the stage name DigDat, is facing a life sentence for the Notting Hill drive-by shooting in November of 2023 that left Daniel Offei‑Ntow with critical injuries.

The 26-year-old rapper participated in the drive-by shooting of then 27-year-old Daniel Offei‑Ntow, also known as Lugavelz, that took place in west London on 20 November 2023. Daniel Offei‑Ntow was shot six times while in his car.

Nathan Tokosi of Deptford, south-east London was found guilty of attempted murder, possessing a self-loading pistol and ammunition with an intent to endanger life, and for possessing a prohibited firearm and ammunition in a 2025 trial, as reported by The Standard UK.

Tokosi's Trial

Nathan Tokosi's Trial opened in February of 2025 with prosecutor Kate Bex KC. According to the prosecution, Tokosi and at least two other individuals pulled up beside Offei‑Ntow's car in a stolen Audi, and fired six shots from its rear passenger window. Offei-Ntow sustained gunshot injuries in the head, mouth, and body. Based on Offei-Ntow's injuries, Prosecutor Bex said he was 'lucky to be alive.'

Offei-Ntow's Mitsubishi Outlander was found marred by bullet holes outside and drenched in blood inside, by firearms officers who swiftly arrived at the scene. Offei-Ntow was shortly found in his flat 'in shock and severely injured,' after officers followed the blood trail. In subsequent events, a latex glove and a black bag were found by police dogs, along with an abandoned Audi. The black bag was confirmed to contain a firearm and three rounds of ammunition.

According to Hot Press, Tokosi was consequently convicted of attempted murder following the trials, and the court heard it was a 'premeditated, reckless and malicious' shooting after being identified in DNA evidence and CCTV footage at the scene. Judge Sarah Munro KC dropped Tokosi's sentence, saying he was undoubtedly a dangerous offender.

An 'Utterly Mindless Attack'

Senior District Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South Helen Shaw called the drive-by shooting an 'utterly mindless attack which very nearly claimed a life,' per a BBC exclusive on the case. Shaw also said, '"That night, Nathan Tokosi clearly intended to kill his victim by shooting him in the head at close range, with CCTV revealing Tokosi doing several drives around the area in a stolen Audi in the days and hours before the shooting.'

The court also said that Tokosi, also known as DigDat, was a 'laidback young man' carried away by his music career's success and living a 'fast-paced and chaotic' lifestyle relative to his successful career in music. Tokosi has had a tumultuous childhood, resulting in convictions as early as 11 years old after smashing a girl in the face and hitting a boy in the head.

Tokosi's total of eight convictions for 13 offences also included assault, stabbing the victim in the rib cage and resulting in a 7-year youth detention sentence and 3 years on extended licence for attempted murder. He was only 13 years old then.

Tokosi's defending attorney Shannon Revel said Tokosi 'described that his job as a rapper effectively became an existence, rather than something that he could take time off from,' and that 'rising to success so quickly' left Tokosi with no time to reflect, according to a report by The Independent. Revel added that Tokosi had 'struggled' at school as well, having been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at age 11.

Helen Shaw during the trial said, 'That night, Nathan Tokosi clearly intended to kill his victim by shooting him in the head at a close range, with CCTV revealing Tokosi doing several drives around the area in a stolen Audi in the days and hours before the shooting. The Crown Prosecution Service was determined to ensure Tokosi was prosecuted for the full extent of his offending, and we hope today's sentence will offer some closure to the victim's family.'

Per the Crown Prosecution Service's official press release, Nathan Tokosi has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years after being found 'guilty on all counts' after two trials.
