In the past, there have been reports of alleged infidelities by Rocky. In 2022, the rapper was linked to two women: Amina Muaddi and Yoon Ahn. Both denied having an affair with him.

A TikTok account named celebritea.blinds claimed without evidence that Rocky had direct ties to Ortiz through an alleged affair. The account speculated that because Rihanna and Rocky are still together, the alleged fling did not progress further, and that this may have motivated Ortiz to open fire on the singer's home.

An unnamed source close to the couple denied the allegations. Rihanna and Rocky have been together for more than six years and have three children together. Their youngest child was born in September last year.

Rihanna and Rocky were close friends for several years before their relationship turned romantic. The two first met at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, where they performed together, and spent nearly a decade in the same creative circles before things changed at the end of 2019. During her interview with Vogue, the 'Diamonds' singer admitted that she took her time before deciding if they could become something more than friends.

'People don't get out of the friend zone very easily with me. And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in,' she said.
