United States President Donald Trump is no stranger when it comes to sending out cryptic messages. Hence, the creepy letter he sent out on St. Patrick's Day is hardly surprising.

Sending out emails that saw Trump with a green background, the US president thanked those who believed in him and stood by his side. He also thanked people who supported him in his controversial decision to authorise Operation Epic Fury, better known to most as the unauthorised war on Iran.

Trump would justify that unauthorised decision to Operation Epic Fury, claiming it was necessary to keep his constituents safe from nuclear weapons. He capped that message by saying that it was necessary to make America great again.

'You could've sided with the radical left, but you saw right through their lies – I gave the green light on Operation Epic Fury to keep you safe from nuclear weapons. You fought for the truth and stood with me to make America Great Again,' part of his unusual email read via the Irish Star.

While the bulk of that email appeared to hit back at his detractors, the ending of it was even stranger. Towards the end of his email, he extended an invitation to recipients to join the MAGA roster, which inadvertently led to a donation form once clicked. The whole ploy is believed to be Trump's way of raising funds in the war against Iran.

The Financial Pinch of War

Although Trump is no stranger when it comes to soliciting funds, a probable reason behind the pitch is the cost of the war against Iran. Just last week, Pentagon officials revealed to lawmakers that the cost of the war against Iran had already exceeded $11.3bn (£8.47bn) in the first six days, The Guardian reported.

However, those figures are said to be just part of a bigger cost that the U.S. is dealing with. In the same report, it was added that this enormous amount does not include estimates for repairing facilities or replacing losses. Aside from that, it also does not include the cost of building up troops and warships in the region.

That said, it may reach a point where the US may have to convene and look into possibly approving additional funds to back the war against Iran. Members of Congress have aired their concerns about this possibility, pointing out how such would deplete US military stocks.

Despite that looming probability, Trump bats back that the war against Iran may end soon. He pointed out that there is practically nothing left. However, he gave no evidence to support that claim, Al Jazeera reported.

Escalating War, Escalating Deaths

As far as saying 'practically nothing left,' the death of thousands of people is evident. In the same report, about 2,000 people have been killed so far, mostly Iranians and Lebanese.

With the conflict spreading across the Middle East, the unfortunate casualties of war are children. Roughly 1,000 people have reportedly been killed or wounded in the US–Iran war.

Regardless, Trump remains proud of attacking Iran. In fact, he bragged that an unnamed former president allegedly expressed regret for not doing what he did.

Trump did not name the former Oval Office predecessor, the Associated Press reported. When asked by reporters to name the former leader, he responded by saying he could not reveal the name since it could embarrass him.

'I can't tell you that. I don't want to embarrass him. It would be very bad for his career, even though he's got no career,' Trump quipped.
