As the Royal Patron of East Anglia Children's Hospices, The Duchess of Cambridge opened a new children's Hospice building in Ipswich, which has been named the Tree House.

The Duchess stopped to talk crowds of flag waving children. Before going into the centre.

As she made her first public speech The Duchess raised a chuckle from the crowd as she said William would have loved to have been here today and said what could be achieved by teamwork.

During the visit the duchess also toured the facilities and met children and their families who receive care and support from the hospice service and before she left, the Duchess planted a commemorative tree in the Treehouse grounds.
