Great news for Will Ferrell fans as Elf has been voted the best PG Christmas film by fans on Ranker.

The 2003 film depicts Buddy (Ferrell) as a human who finds himself accidentally raised into adulthood by Santa's elves. After travelling to New York in search of his real father, he struggles to understand human culture and fit in.

Currently Ranker's top ten looks like this:

1. Elf
2. The Santa Clause
3. The Nightmare Before Christmas
4. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
5. A Christmas Story
6. Jingle All the Way
7. A Christmas Carol
8. Home Alone
9. Deck the Halls
10. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Rather controversially, the much loved Christmas film Love Actually reached a mere number 13 on the list.

Radio Times published an article on Monday entitled "Where can I watch Elf online and on TV this Christmas?" It turns out the film is becoming increasingly difficult for fans to watch over the festive period as last year it was left out of Christmas television schedules and this year is not on the Sky Cinema's Christmas Collection.
