British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has recently revealed that Matt Preston was the real reason he left MasterChef Australia to join rival channel's Hell's Kitchen. The restaurateur and television personality vowed revenge on Preston for the "disgraceful" comments he made about his son in 2016.
"With my hand on my mother's grave, I will get that man," White told Australia's Channel 10 newsreader Rebecca Morse in response to the controversy brewing around his troubled son Marco Pierre White Jr.
"The things he said about my son in the British press were disgraceful," the 55-year-old restaurateur added. "No one should ever say that about someone else's children. I will never forgive that man."
The former MasterChef judge's animosity seems to have begun after Preston spoke about White's son and his extravagant lifestyle. From drug binges, to allegedly buying prostitutes with his father's money, White Jr has made some explosive revelations in the past.
Soon after the disclosure, the 22-year-old appeared on Big Brother UK and allegedly had sex with a female housemate on camera.
Preston had responded to this on-air controversy surrounding White's son last year on the Kyle and Jackie O Show. He said, "Anyone who's got tattoos on their face normally behaves badly, don't they?"
"I think it is that terrible thing when you have kids that go off the rails, how do you deal with it?" the MasterChef boss continued. "I don't know. I don't think Marco has a solution, I don't think anyone has a solution."
When pressed by the radio show hosts about the youngster's alleged drug usage, Preston sarcastically added, "That's that whole rich, London trust fund babe, trustifarian-type stuff – it's another world," the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.
"I have the greatest respect for Marco Pierre White having had a professional relationship with Marco for the past five years," Preston said in response to White's angry tirade against him. "Marco has already reached out to me to organise a sit down to clear the air."
