Despite a successful telly comeback, I'm A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin's struggles are far from being over.

The UK presenter, whose relationship with his wife Lisa Armstrong had hit rock bottom during his time in rehab, now faces a potential divorce as the makeup artist confided to friends that their marriage is "definitely over".

The latest news comes from The Sun after McPartlin allegedly sent his friend Declan Donnelly to pick up his dog from their family home.

A source close to the couple even dished on how their relationship is hanging by a thread. "Ant's rented flat was meant to be a temporary arrangement but there are no signs of him moving," the insider was quoted as saying by the newspaper on Sunday, 17 December.

"It's becoming harder to see a way back. He knows they need heart-to-heart talks, but since he has returned from the jungle, they just haven't happened," the source said, adding, "And what's more, it doesn't look likely to any time soon."

As for 41-year-old Armstrong, she is said to have expressed her fears regarding her 11-year marriage with the popular English TV host.

"She has told several friends their marriage is definitely over and that she is considering meeting lawyers to discuss things," the outlet reported. "But on other days, she has been more confident they can fix things. She desperately wants it to work out."

McPartlin and Armstrong – who got married in Taplow, Bucks, in 2006 – have been struggling with starting a family, as per reports. Additionally, the Ant & Dec's host was revealed to have been dealing with a painkiller addiction, for which he even checked into rehab.

Amid all this, the couple has been leading separate lives, with McPartline checking into the £1.6 million flat, a bachelor pad close to the couple's West London home. And if sources are to be believed, Dec, aka Declan, has been "acting as a go-between" for the estranged pair.

"He brought Hurley [Ant's pooch] round to the flat for Ant as he settles in to his new place. Normally, Ant goes to pick up the dog himself, but this time he didn't," a source told The Mirror.
