Siberia: Very cold indeed
Siberia: Very cold indeed

Britain has been shivering in chilly conditions of late, but the video below is a stark reminder that it could be so much worse.

Boiling water heated up by a man who then throws it off the balcony of his flat in Siberia turns hard instantly in conditions of 41 degrees below zero.

No sooner does the steaming liquid come into contact with the air than it hardens into ice crystals. Then it all drifts through the air as a white cloud.

The scene serves as a reminder that the chill blasts buffeting Britain are nothing compared to what people elsewhere cope with every day over the winter.

The frozen wastes of Siberia are famously inhospitable and were a favourite location to which Soviet governments would banish their enemies and victims.
