Overview

The Challengers enter this game after their comfortable victory over the 2008 champions, Rajasthan Royals last weekend. The game saw Virat Kohli putting the Royals bat first as they ended their innings for 117 with two balls to spare. Rajasthan skipper Rahul Dravid was the top scorer for his side with 35, with Stuart Binny supporting the former RCB player by scoring 33 runs.

RCB bowlers RP Singh and Vinay Kumar took three wickets each, but the latter was rewarded with the Man of the Match award after dismissing Binny and Brad Hodge. In their chase to victory over the Royals, Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan gave a brilliant start for the Bangalore side as the Jamaican remained unbeaten on 49 as Kohli's men won the game by seven wickets, with 13 balls to spare.

The result had seen RCB take the top of the table, however a victory for Chennai Super Kings over the Royals on Monday has now seen them sit second on the table with 10 points from seven games and are level on points with CSK.

Meanwhile, the Warriors enter this game after their defeat against Kings XI Punjab. Pune went on to post a huge total of 185, which was well chased by Adam Gilchrist's side after David Miller and Mandeep Singh guided Punjab to victory. The visitors' skipper Aaron FInch fired a quick 64 from 42 balls which was well supported by Robin Uthappa as he managed to score 37 from 33 deliveries.

Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh fired a quick 34, which included three biggies and two fours and a contribution from Luke Wright with 34 from 11 balls helped the Warriors put on a momth total of 185. However, their bowlers failed to restrict Punjab from keeping the score board ticking, which resulted them in the loss. The defeat has now seen them sit eight in the table with four points from seven games.
