An Islington man has been charged with the attempted murder of a relative following a stabbing in north London.

Carl Thomas, 25, of Highbury Quadrant was charged today (Friday, 19 June) with the attempted murder of a 54-year-old man.

He is due to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court today (19 June).

Police were called to the incident at approximately 5:50pm on Wednesday, 17 June, in Highbury Quadrant, north London.

The victim - who is a relative of the man charged - remains in a critical condition.

Officers from Islington investigate. A 24-year-old man also arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed until a date in late August.
