Jimmy Kimmel and his wife

Jimmy Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney, played a besotted aide named Natalie in a Jimmy Kimmel Live! sketch mocking President Donald Trump and his special assistant Natalie Harp, ending with the line, 'Your wife doesn't deserve you.'

For context, Kimmel and Trump have spent years exchanging insults. The president has publicly demanded that Disney and ABC remove the late-night host, while Kimmel has repeatedly used his monologues to ridicule Trump and the White House.

McNearney appeared during Thursday's monologue as Natalie, a woman carrying a bag and seemingly prepared to satisfy every request before her boss made it. She told Kimmel, 'And this man is my guardian and my protector.'

The reference was difficult to miss. Trump aide Natalie Harp reportedly described the president in those terms in letters to him, writing, 'Thank you for being my Guardian and Protector in this Life.'

Kimmel did not say Trump's name, but the golf clubs Natalie carried onto the set made the target clear enough.

Kimmel's Natalie Sketch

The exchange began with Kimmel thanking his new assistant for her help. Natalie had other ideas.

'Anyway, do you need me now?' she asked.

'No, not right now. I don't need you right now,' Kimmel replied.

Natalie tried again, asking whether he had anything he would like to say, or any 'truth' he would like to post. Kimmel answered that if he thought of anything, he would 'just say it with my mouth.'

Her response was stranger still. 'Can I look inside your mouth?' she asked. He said no and told her to sit down.

Natalie then knelt on the floor at his feet. When Kimmel suggested she head upstairs, she sounded wounded. 'You don't need me?' she said in a whimper.

He scrambled to reassure her. 'I don't need you because you've taken care of everything already, is what I'm saying,' he said.

That only opened the door for more. McNearney's Natalie praised Kimmel's soft hands and strong body before Guillermo escorted her offstage. She pretended to resist, yelling and reaching for the man who, as the sketch implied, paid her cheque.

Then came the line that set social media talking. 'Your wife doesn't deserve you,' Natalie said as she was led away.

Why Natalie Harp Is Familiar

The joke worked because Harp has become a recurring figure in coverage of Trump's second administration. She is frequently seen at the president's side and helps prepare his Truth Social posts.

She also carries a portable printer to hand him articles, a habit that has earned her the nickname 'human printer'. A cancer survivor from Florida, Harp first drew Trump's attention after crediting his 'Right to Try' law with helping her during treatment. She later spoke at the 2020 Republican National Convention.

Letters attributed to Harp have fuelled further interest. In them, she reportedly wrote, 'I never want to bring you anything but joy,' adding, 'You are all that matters to me. I don't want to ever let you down.'

Her estranged brother, Preston, has described her fixation on Trump as unhealthy. That claim has not settled the matter, but it has added to the public fascination with a White House aide whose proximity to the president has become a story in itself.

Even Harp's clothing has drawn attention. Critics questioned a short navy-and-yellow dress she wore to the United Nations, while social media users have repeatedly commented on hemlines and fitted outfits. Some have also scrutinised Melania Trump's expression when Harp is near the president.

The speculation about the First Lady's feelings is exactly that, speculation. Nothing is confirmed yet, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt. What can be verified is that Kimmel's audience recognised McNearney immediately.

On Threads, one viewer wrote, 'OMG!! This is great! Cheeto is going to blow a fuse, for sure.' Another said, 'What's wild about this is this isn't that far off from the truth.' A third predicted, 'Oh man Kimmels going off the air again for this one. Bravo.'

Viewers on the show's Instagram were just as quick. 'We love Molly I mean Natalie,' one commented. Another declared, 'And the Emmy goes to Molly.'

The sketch lands at a tense moment in Kimmel's relationship with the White House. Trump has attacked the host's ratings and called for his removal from air. ABC briefly pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! off air in September 2025, and Kimmel has continued to mock Trump's ballroom plans and jokes about Melania since returning.

The punchline was simple. Kimmel's Natalie was a stand-in for the president's Natalie. Whether the internet's theories about Harp are fair or not, McNearney's portrayal made the point with enough precision that viewers did not need it spelled out.
