Supermodel Jodie Kidd has reignited speculation that she could join the all-new Top Gear after being pictured having a 'secret meeting' with Chris Evans.

The Sun has reported that the duo and TV presenter Zoe Ball met up for lunch at London celebrity haunt The Ivy days after the 36-year-old beauty claimed that the show "needs a female touch".

"Women are buying cars – it's the norm – so you need a woman's angle," she told the Daily Star.

But despite admitting that the show needed a revamp, she remained tight-lipped about her involvement in the new project.

"If I had a pound every time someone asked me about that show I think I would be a millionaire right now," she said. "I was a massive fan of Top Gear, but I have no news to share on the new programme."

Radio 2 host Chris Evans was been hired as Jeremy Clarkson's replacement for the continuation of Top Gear after the BBC axed 55-year-old following a fracas at a Yorkshire hotel, during which he hit producer Oisin Tymon in a row over catering arrangements. In 2014 the star was given a "final warning" by the Beeb for using racist language.

His co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond opted out of staying on as part of Top Gear following his departure. The trio have now reunited for a brand new car show , which will air exclusively on Amazon Prime in 2016.

Although open auditions are being carried out to fill the remaining two host slots, Kidd has been a firm favourite to join after Evans ever since he confirmed there would "100 per cent" be a female presenter alongside him on the show .

"Absolutely, but not for the sake of it," Evans said.

"I want people who are extremely knowledgeable about cars, I want to have people who have great energy, people who have good timing, people who have warmth about them, people who are keen and eager to do things differently."
