Jordi Alba reiterates his Barcelona plans amid talks over Theo Hernandez £20.3m signing

Jordi Alba has reiterated his intentions to continue at Barcelona despite recent reports linking him with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. Meanwhile, the Spaniard has added that he is not concerned about the potential arrival of Theo Hernandez after claiming that any signing would be welcomed at the Nou Camp.

Alba, 28, has been a key player for Barcelona since his arrival from Valencia in the summer of 2012, helping the Catalans to win three La Liga titles and the Champions League in the 2014-2015 campaign.

However, his future at the Nou Camp has come under question since he lost his place in the line-up when the Spanish boss decided to switch to 3-4-3.

Alba himself expressed his frustration about the situation from the Spanish camp on March amid reports in England saying that Manchester United were monitoring due to the uncertain future of Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.

Spanish publication AS later added that Alba had even called his former Barcelona teammates Cesc Fabregas and Pedro to know about life at Chelsea, while he was also listening the advises from some Manchester United pals ahead of making a move to Jose Mourinho's side.

The speculations have increased in recent weeks after emerged that Barcelona are batting with Real Madrid for the signing of Atletico Madrid starlet Theo Hernandez ahead of 2017-2018 campaign.

Reports are suggesting that the Catalans are ready to meet Theo's €24m (£20.34, $26.3m) release clause to complete a deal which could mean the departure of Alba.

But the Spanish international has now reiterated that his priority is to stay at Barcelona, while suggesting that he would be ready to compete with Theo if the current Alaves loanee finally arrives at the Nou Camp.

"I see myself at Barcelona, not anyone else," Alba said as quoted by Marca when asked about the potential arrival of Theo Hernandez. "When new players arrive next season they will be welcomed. My intention is to be here for as long as the club want me to be here. I am at my home and I am happy."
