Katy Perry and Ryan Phillippe are definitely not a couple. The Cruel Intentions actor was quick to put rumours to rest with his post on 10 April.

Rumours about the Roar hitmaker and Phillippe dating began after they were allegedly spotted "giggling and flirting" at Elton John's birthday party in March.

The 42-year-old actor's tweet suggested he was furious with romance rumours linking him to the 32-year-old songstress.

"I AM NOT DATING KATY PERRY. BARELY KNOW HER. PLEASE STOP FLYING HELICOPTERS OVER MY HOUSE. SHE IS NOT HERE," Phillippe wrote in all caps.

His tweet clearly sent out the message that he did not want to be bothered by the paparazzi. However, he ended the tweet with a polite "thx".

Things got even better as the Dark Horse singer / songwriter decided to have a little fun with Phillippe after he made an issue of the rumours. Directly replying to Phillippe's tweet, Perry asked, "Can you let me out of the basement please?"

She also followed her first tweet with another, confirming the two don't know each other. "Hi, nice to meet you, sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol," she wrote.

Phillippe split from longtime girlfriend Paulina Slagter, 24, in 2016, while Katy and Orlando Bloom, 40, ended their one-year romance in February.
