'By the Time I Learn All Their Names, There's Another One': Influencer Jokes About Blocking Elon Musk

Comedian and pop artist Ksenia has drawn widespread attention after joking that she would never date Elon Musk because he has too many children, before playfully appearing to block the billionaire on camera.

Ksenia, who uses the handle @thatksenia, posted the video on Instagram on 4 September, giving a tongue-in-cheek list of reasons why she would not pursue a relationship with the Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder.

'Too many children. By the time I learn all their names, there's another one,' she says.

The video ends with Ksenia looking at her phone and saying 'block', turning the hypothetical rejection into the punchline. The joke plays on Musk's unusually large and, in recent years, expanding family, which has frequently attracted media attention of its own.

'I Want Attention. He Wants To Be on Mars'

Ksenia gives another reason for rejecting Musk: she jokes that he works too much and that she wants a boyfriend who is more available.

'I don't want to text my boyfriend and ask him for his location and whereabouts and get a reply in return that he's on Mars,' she says. 'I want my boyfriend to be on Earth.'

The joke continues with Ksenia initially saying the decision was mutual, although she later makes clear that it was 'entirely' hers. She also says Musk has not been informed about the hypothetical decision and that she will still block him.

Her caption adds another layer to the gag: 'Elon and I want different things. I want attention. He wants to be on Mars.'

Ksenia is a Los Angeles‑based comedian, singer and actress. Her website identifies her as a voting member of the Recording Academy and says she has performed at The Comedy Store.

The combination of the two jokes gives the video its premise: Ksenia portrays herself as looking for a conventional, attentive boyfriend while casting Musk as a billionaire whose interests are focused on business, technology, children and eventually leaving Earth.

Musk Has a Large, Widely Reported Family

Musk has several publicly known children, one of whom died in infancy. The children are from multiple relationships, including with his first wife Justine Wilson, musician Grimes and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. Various media outlets have reported that he has had children with these partners, and coverage has often focused on the size of his family.

Musk and Wilson had six children, including twins Vivian Jenna Wilson and Griffin and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian. Their first son, Nevada Alexander, died in infancy in 2002.

Reports have identified three children that Musk has with Grimes, including X Æ A‑Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl and a son reported to be named Techno Mechanicus. He is also reported to have twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, born in 2021.

St. Clair publicly identified Musk as the father of her son, later named Romulus, in a February 2025 post on X. A paternity test ordered by a New York court reportedly showed a 99.9999 per cent 'probability of paternity' for Musk, a result St. Clair's spokesperson confirmed to People.

On 12 January 2026, Musk said on X that he intended to file for full custody of the child, a move he linked to St. Clair's recent comments on transgender issues; St. Clair has disputed aspects of Musk's account, and as of that time no court had ruled on the matter.

The scale of Musk's family helps explain why Ksenia's opening joke is immediately recognisable. Rather than needing to explain an obscure personal detail, she is building the punchline around something that has already become a widely reported part of Musk's public image.

Musk Really Does Want To Go To Mars

The second half of Ksenia's joke also draws on one of Musk's most recognisable ambitions.

SpaceX is still developing and testing Starship, the fully reusable spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket system that the company says is designed to carry crew and cargo to destinations including the Moon and, eventually, Mars. The programme has continued to advance through a series of test flights, during which the company has incrementally tested launch, ascent, re‑entry and landing capabilities.

That timeline is an ambition rather than a confirmed schedule. SpaceX is still developing and testing Starship, the fully reusable spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket system that the company says is designed to carry crew and cargo to destinations including the Moon and, eventually, beyond.

The programme has continued to advance through flight testing. On 24 July 2026, SpaceX conducted Starship's 13th test flight, during which the spacecraft deployed 20 upgraded Starlink satellites before completing a controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean. The Super Heavy booster did not complete its planned return, but the upper-stage mission achieved several of its objectives.

That makes Ksenia's second punchline particularly well suited to its target. Her imagined boyfriend wants to be on Mars, while she wants someone who will simply be available on Earth.

The video is a comedic hypothetical, not a claim that Musk and Ksenia have a personal or romantic relationship. Musk had not directly responded to Ksenia's comments as of publication.
