A video has been released by Thames Valley Police comparing sexual consent to being offered a cup of tea.

The animation, published on YouTube on 27 October, has a narrator who explains why initiating sex is similar to making someone a cup of tea. The voice-over explains why it would be "ludicrous" to force someone to drink a cup of tea if they did not want one and that you should not try to pour a cup of tea down someone's throat while they are unconscious.

The video forms part of Thames Valley Police's #Consentiseverything campaign, designed to increase understanding of the general public on what qualifies as sexual consent. A statement on the campaign website says: "Together we can stop rape by ensuring everyone knows when they have sexual consent – and when they do not".
