Thousands of people lined the streets of London to watch the capital celebrate 2015 year in style with the annual New Year's Day parade.

More than 8,500 performers from London and across the world took park in the 29th annual New Year's Day parade, including cheerleaders, circus performers and pearly kings and queens.

This year's parade, set around the theme "London on the Move", also featured steam engines, horse drawn vehicles, bicycles and classic cars.

The procession started at The Ritz hotel at Piccadilly and travelled past Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall, before finishing at Parliament Street.
