MAGA Artists Headline TPUSA's 'Anti-Woke' Super Bowl Halftime Show – 'No One Will Watch That!'
Turning Point USA unveils conservative 'All-American Halftime Show' lineup amid backlash to Bad Bunny's official Super Bowl performance.

Turning Point USA has confirmed that a cadre of conservative-aligned musical acts will lead its 'All-American Halftime Show,' a rival broadcast scheduled to coincide with the NFL's 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance.
For months, the conservative advocacy group's alternative concert has been rumoured and, in some coverage, questioned as to whether it would ever materialise, even as Super Bowl LX looms less than a week away.
TPUSA's Counter-Programming Emerges
Turning Point USA, the conservative nonprofit founded by Charlie Kirk in 2012, first announced plans for an alternative Super Bowl halftime broadcast in October 2025 after the National Football League (NFL) and Roc Nation named Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny as the official Super Bowl LX halftime performer.
In the announcement published on the event's official website, TPUSA outlined the 'All-American Halftime Show,' set for Sunday, 8 February 2026, beginning at approximately 20:00 Eastern Time, concurrent with the NFL's halftime show in Santa Clara, California.

The website lists headliners including Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, artists whose profiles lean strongly towards country, rock, and right-leaning audiences.
In a formal press release distributed to news outlets, TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet said the show was designed to 'provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game.'
Kid Rock, whose career spans rock, country, and nationalist themes and who has appeared publicly at Republican events, echoed this frame in a campaign-style statement. 'We're approaching this show like David and Goliath ... We plan to play great songs for folks who love America,' he said.

Cultural Divide Over Bad Bunny Selection
The TPUSA event exists in direct opposition to the NFL's selection of Bad Bunny as the headliner for the official Super Bowl halftime show. Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny is a multiple Grammy Award-winning artist and, according to industry metrics, one of the most-streamed musicians globally in 2025.
The artist's selection has ignited cultural and political debates, with critics on the right directing ire at his Spanish-language repertoire and his outspoken stance on social issues, including immigration enforcement.

Bad Bunny used his acceptance speech at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where he won Album of the Year, to make a political statement against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), declaring 'ICE out,' and asserting that 'we are humans ... we are Americans.'
President Donald Trump, a polarising figure in his own right, publicly criticised the NFL's choice as 'absolutely ridiculous,' underscoring the friction between conservative political figures and mainstream cultural institutions.
Political Activism Meets Entertainment
Turning Point USA's decision to launch the alternative show reflects a broader trend of politicised counter-programming across American media. Historically, counter-programming around the Super Bowl has been limited to niche offerings; TPUSA's move is unusual for its explicitly political framing and its choice to schedule an alternative halftime spectacle that is technically concurrent with the official broadcast.
The alternative event's distribution strategy heavily leans on conservative streaming outlets and social platforms. Broadcasting partners include Daily Wire+, Real America's Voice, One America News Network, Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), and Sinclair Broadcast Group channels. Social media streams will run across TPUSA's YouTube, X, and Rumble channels.
This wide array of outlets illustrates a deliberate reach into ideologically aligned audiences, rather than traditional sports or music channels, signalling that TPUSA's goal is less about entertainment per se and more about offering a political alternative to what its organisers consider 'woke' mainstream culture.

Reactions to TPUSA's announced lineup have been swift and polarised. Within conservative media, some commentators have embraced the show as a welcome counter-offer to an NFL halftime headlined by an artist perceived as politically contentious.)
Whether the 'All-American Halftime Show' can materially impact audience behaviour or translate political disaffection into measurable viewership remains unclear. What is certain is that this year's Super Bowl has transcended sport to become a cultural flashpoint, testing the boundaries between entertainment, politics, and national identity.
The spectacle is set to happen live on Super Bowl Sunday — but whether anyone will truly watch both shows remains the country's latest cultural gamble.
