Maisie Williams as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones HBO

She may be one of the biggest stars on TV but Maisie Williams still takes pleasure in life's simple things.

The British actress, best known for playing Arya Stark on Game Of Thrones, celebrated her 18th birthday by eating Nando's on the set of Doctor Who.

Williams, who is preparing to make a guest appearance on the hit BBC show, made the most of having to work by treating her fellow cast and crew members to a huge spread of her favourite Peri-Peri chicken delights.

She made sure to keep fans updated with the festivities by sharing a snap on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, Williams marked the milestone by posting a vintage snap of herself on Instagram with the caption: "Happy birthday to me, lol (sic)."

Viewers have got to see Williams, who joined the cast of the HBO series at the age of 13, grow up on screen. But despite getting to rub shoulders with Hollywood heavyweights, Williams, who reprises her role in season five which premiered in the UK on 13 April, previously admitted that being famous has its downsides.

"Going out is the typical thing when you turn 18, but it's not really much fun when you have a recognisable face," she said during an appearance on Alan Carr's Chatty Man.

"So I am just going to camping with my friends. We're hiring a nice big bell tent and putting lights up and having a campfire, so it'll be cool!"

Earlier in April, Somerset-born Williams made headlines after releasing a tongue-in-cheek 'kill list' ahead of the 7 May general election.

Speaking to the camera she tells young voters: "They kicked your future in the teeth and hope you wouldn't notice" as a list in the background reveals names including David Cameron, comedian-turned activist Russell Brand and rapper Kanye West.
